GOAL 5 - Contribute to serving the needs of agriculture and ensuring a safe food supply
To ensure a healthy food supply depends upon healthy animals. This goal recognizes the critical role of veterinarians in public health -- training future veterinarians; working with industry colleagues and producers to help maintain healthy production routines; contributing to disease surveillance and control strategies with government agencies and regulatory entities. Being the collaborative hub for these partners is a unique and critical role for the VMC in concert with the school’s other animal agriculture focused centers and programs.
5.1. Build unique and productive transdisciplinary collaborations within the School of Veterinary Medicine, across UC Davis and with partners in industry and government to serve the needs of agriculture and ensure a safe food supply.
